ANGELA MONTANTI has been working with clay for two decades. Her introduction to the meduim was in a class of figurative sculpture. Although she had experimented with different areas of self-expression through an early accomplishment, a diploma received in Apparel Design, Angela was determined to pursue a formal education in Fine Arts.  She received a B.F.A. Honors from the University of Manitoba, majoring in both Ceramics and Painting.

The Apparel Design program offered a vast amount of information into design and drafting of apparel construction, the bases used to produce Angela's fine and delicate (china like) porcelain ware of today. Her formal education in Fine Arts allowed her the luxury to explore a number of hand-built techniques and finishes in a formal and well-equipped environment.

"Clay continues to fascinate and inspire me. The medium is complex and offers me challenges through form and design and through the infinite scientific experimentation required to formulate glazes that best express the form I'm working on and my persona."

Angela has attended and instructed numerous workshops. She has exhibited in numerous shows, has been commissioned for public works and is collected internationally.
