This bird is one of a flock on a mountainside west of my home in
Penticton, B.C.   Folklore has it that a rooster in one's yard brings good luck.
 This is particularly so if the bird is a red one -- this guy is pretty red
(white ones are also good) -- unless they crow more than three times in a night.
