These small paintings usually start as sketches, done just to explore an idea or
to play with a colour or a composition. The studies come later to see if something
pleasing may happen. That is what happened here. I like the old timer with
the blue-grey coat and the warm pale russet neck hackle. The mixed genes in
this bunch do make for some unexpected colour combinations. Perhaps
"grey guy" can star in a future effort.
