This painting was made from a bunch of sketchbook images and a simple information photo.
I ran on the plant just across the border from this White Rock Gallery. It will probably be used
as a step by me to something larger -- better? Who knows, this is not the usual subject for me. When I paint
a person or a chicken there is usually a foot on one end and very often a head on the other -- flowers,
on the other hand, are all over the place. I find it somewhat confusing to say to myself, "Be an impressionist
today and put down the colours that first caught your eye -- perhaps you'll be luck and
they will find the right spots!" If so, be grateful for a happy day.
