Winter Overflow by Graeme Shaw depicts a seasonal waterfall along a forest trail on Vancouver Island that appears only during the winter months. Fed by heavy rains, the small cascade transforms the landscape into a living stream that changes with each storm, creating a fleeting natural event hidden within the forest.
Shaw captures a moment of light breaking through the trees, illuminating the waterfall, rocks, and surrounding forest in a layered interplay of shadow and reflection. Painted in acrylic, the work emphasizes spontaneity, movement, and the transient beauty of seasonal water flow.
