Ray Ward is a Canadian landscape painter known for his atmospheric oil paintings of coastal British Columbia, marine scenes, and international street landscapes. Working primarily in oil, Ward captures the changing light, weather, and mood of the natural world with refined brushwork and strong compositional structure.
After studying commercial art at Capilano College in North Vancouver, Ward began his career as an illustrator before dedicating himself fully to fine art. He later completed the Federation of Canadian Artists Foundation program and earned signature status as an Associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Ward’s paintings are inspired by travel and firsthand observation. From rugged West Coast shorelines and tidal pools to quiet European streets and coastal harbours, his work captures moments of light and atmosphere that transform ordinary scenes into compelling visual experiences.
Collectors are drawn to Ray Ward’s work for its balance of realism, mood, and expressive light. His oil paintings convey the feeling of a place — whether the calm of a quiet inlet or the dramatic shift of weather moving across the Pacific coast.
A selection of original Ray Ward paintings is available through White Rock Gallery. Collectors are welcome to purchase artwork online or visit the gallery to experience these paintings in person. For availability, additional images, or assistance selecting a piece, please contact the gallery.
