Laurie Rolland, RCA, is a Canadian ceramic artist based on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia. A Sheridan College graduate, she has been creating hand-built ceramic sculptures and vessels for over four decades. Her work is known for expressive surfaces, organic forms, and a deep connection to natural and cultural themes.
Rolland’s practice focuses on hand-built mid-temperature stoneware, often integrating symbolic and organic forms in sculptural vessels, wall-hangings, and boat-inspired pieces. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Gardiner Museum’s Earthworks symposium, the Third World Ceramic Biennale in Korea, and the Sidney Myer International Ceramic Competition in Australia. She was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2004.
Collectors value Rolland’s ceramics for their combination of craftsmanship, texture, and symbolic richness. Her hand-built pieces blend artistic expression with sculptural design, making them sought-after additions to contemporary Canadian ceramic collections.
Laurie Rolland’s original ceramic works are available for purchase both online and in the White Rock Gallery. Collectors are always welcome to get in touch with the gallery for any questions about the artwork, pricing, or shipping.
