Artist's Statement:
"3 years ago, I had precious alone time on one of British Columbia's gulf islands. It was the first time in decades that it was just me. No one needing me, no schedule, nothing but freedom to create.
I'd sleep deeply each night, meditate under the moon while I listened to waves crashing, paint like I was on fire all day, take the kayak out for breaks.
But it was the morning hikes that were truly magical. I'd climb steep rocks alongside the ocean, heavily breathing in the salty air. Every now and then, I'd spot a sweet creature watching me, intently for a few seconds, but quickly turning to more enticing things."
