CONNECTIONS: A NEW COLLECTION BY JANIS WOODE
In her newest collection, Canadian sculptor Janis Woode explores the invisible threads that connect us across distance. Created from reclaimed telephone wire, salvaged steel, and recycled industrial materials, these original contemporary sculptures celebrate the conversations, relationships, and memories carried through generations of communication.
Inspired by family and friends who live many miles apart, Woode reflects on the simple yet profound role the telephone has played in keeping loved ones close. Each sculpture transforms reclaimed telephone cables into elegant abstract forms, giving new life to materials that once carried countless voices, emotions, celebrations, and quiet everyday moments.
